Through analyzing these five San Diego-based businesses, I noticed a few key trends:

Instagram is the most actively used platform for all businesses, emphasizing visuals and engagement.

Facebook is commonly used for promotional posts and customer interaction.

Twitter is used less frequently, mainly for updates or customer service.

TikTok is growing in popularity, especially for food-related businesses.

Businesses that post consistently across platforms tend to have better engagement and a stronger following.

Overall, social media presence is crucial for business success, but the approach varies depending on company size and industry. Businesses that post regularly and engage with followers see the most impact.

  1. This is a great useful summary of the many social media strategies being used by San Diego businesses! I appreciate how you identified the trends and dissected each company's approach. It's intriguing that Instagram is obviously the most popular channel for these food-related companies; it makes sense given the visual component. It appears that X (previously Twitter) is no longer the preferred platform for this kind of business, therefore I'm not shocked to see that usage has decreased.

The crucial point is the comment on regular blogging. It's clear that companies with the largest followings are those that are active and engaging. Additionally, it makes me consider how crucial it is to customize your social media strategy to your unique audience and objectives. TikTok, for example, might be excellent for connecting with younger customers, but it might not be as necessary for a fine dining establishment. It all comes down to understanding your audience and the platforms they use. I appreciate you putting this together; it's a fantastic illustration of how various companies use social media marketing.

  2. Hey Katie, I really liked how you picked all San Diego based companies! I also noticed in my research that Twitter is the least used among most businesses and Instagram was the most used, followed by Facebook. It will be interesting to see how companies adapt to new social media platforms in the future as you noted that some are now beginning to use TikTok.
